Silk Shading: ‘Cockatoo’
During this one day Silk Shading course, the students will learn a range of beautiful techniques including Split Stitch, Long and Short Stitch, Chain and feather stitch as well as applying a decorative thread with Couching.
You will be shown how to use the shades of threads to achieve the best results for this delightful design. This will increase your confidence in using colour to shade when embroidering. During the day you will be encouraged to use multiple numbers of needles so that you can work through the shades at the same time and without constantly re threading the needles.
The class kit will include everything you require to complete the piece. The elements of silk shading will be created using stranded cotton threads in shades of white and grey colours.
The class kit will include everything you require to complete the project. You may like to bring your own embroidery scissors and you will be able to borrow ring frames, magnifiers and lights (if needed) on the day.
This class will run from 10am-4pm at Hampton Court Palace, East Molesey, Surrey KT8 9AU.
