gilt goldwork thread is made of the twisted thread core that is wrapped with another thread making this whole thread wavy.
Gilt Goldwork rococo medium thread has very small percentage of gold.
Then the core is nicely wrapped with fine metal coating in the opposite direction to the twist.
This thread is used to couch on the area or outline.
Often this gilt goldwork rococo medium thread end is fraying, the end should be taken back ( this method is called ‘plunging’)
Because this thread is not thin, you may need to make a small opening using a stiletto or an awl.
This rather thick thread needs to be taken care when you plunge it, often you will use the method called ‘lasso’
Price is per 1metre.
Provided in acid free envelope in the small box.
When you do not use this thread, you need to keep it in dark box avoiding direct sun.
