gilt goldwork rococo medium thread is made of the twisted thread core that is wrapped with another thread making this whole thread wavy.

This gilt thread has very small percentage of gold.

Then the core of this gilt Goldwork thread is nicely wrapped with fine metal coating in the opposite direction to the twist.

This is used to couch on the area or outline.

Often the end is fraying, the end should be taken back ( this method is called ‘plunging’)

Because gilt goldwork rococo medium is not thin, you may need to make a small opening using a stiletto or an awl before you take it tot eh back of the fabric.

This rather thick thread needs to be taken care when you plunge it, often you will use the method called ‘lasso’
